The pubescent oak (or white oak) is a small tree with a spreading top and a generally tortuous trunk. The pubescent oak is one of the rare species that accepts marl soils. It grows in the supra-mediterranean levels (on the adrets). Its wood is difficult to work, but excellent as firewood. The main use of the downy oak to be developed is the Trufficulture, which is much better than the wood, in calcareous and warm soil of the South.
