Calabrian black pine (Pinus laricio "calabrica")

The Calabrian pine has a rather plastic behavior. In calcareous soils, it often outstrips the black pine. It is a light species that resists fairly well to drought. Its growth is rapid. Seeds from qualified stands allow to obtain vigorous trees with a better branch insertion angle.
